So I just finished reading this book a couple of days ago and I have to say it is one of the best and most useful books I have read about software development. For those of you who are doing software development, I really suggest you pick up a copy of this book. It offers tons of helpful tips from managing your time, estimating, to unit testing and automation. It really is a veritable treat of development goodness. I wished I had read this book about six months ago! Anyways, new or old, you could really benefit from reading this book. Its great.
Amazon.com does a good job of summing this book up as "Like any other craft, computer programming has spawned a body of
wisdom, most of which isn't taught at universities or in certification
classes. Most programmers arrive at the so-called tricks of the trade
over time, through independent experimentation. In The Pragmatic Programmer,
Andrew Hunt and David Thomas codify many of the truths they've
discovered during their respective careers as designers of software and
writers of code."
