Color Schemes

I was reading this article and it got me thinking. What color schemes do you use when you code? Just recently I switched over to a dark scheme and my eyes have been thanking me ever since. Now the only time I switch back to a light scheme is when I have to use the projector. This is the scheme I've been using for Java. Now show me what you use!

I switched to colors schemes with mild light background more than 15 years ago. It's much more comfortable for me.

Color scheme must be in harmony with the lighting conditions. So I seldom use dark schemes for all-night coding sessions. :)

Its amazing to me how much of a difference it is even if you just change the background to a mild light color. Thats one thing I actually need to do is make a light scheme for myself so I can switch between the two depending on the situation.

I've never even thought about coding on a dark background! I must try that out now. I'll let you know what I think.

Definitely give it a try! Once I switched over it made my eyes feel so much better. One thing I did notice is that my eyes like having a background thats not completely dark as well as having the text font in an off white / gray color.
